During the Como couples retreat, Pete and Dee Adams (C4C), will lead you through a transformative weekend designed to strengthen your relationship with each other and with God. The peaceful beauty of the Mississippi River will be the back drop for interactive exercises that will deepen your emotional connection. Through expert guidance you will identify the causes of relational disruption and learn effective tools to repair, heal and reconnect at a deeper level. Story
Dee Adams, PhD, LPC, LMFT, Certified in Emotionally Focused Therapy:
Dr. Dee Adams has specialized in couples counseling since 1987, completing over 27,000 hours with more than 2,600 clients. She holds advanced degrees in marriage and family studies from Ohio State, Michigan State, and Florida State, with postdoctoral studies at LSU. A former Assistant Professor at LSU and Louisiana Tech, she also served as the founding Director of the Baton Rouge Christian Counseling Center (BRCCC) for 30 years. In 2011, Dee became Louisiana’s first certified Emotionally Focused Therapist (EFT) and has since led 19 workshops with her husband, Pete, impacting over 400 couples.
Pete Adams, Attorney, and Certified Relationship Coach:
Pete Adams, an LSU Law graduate, retired in 2019 after 44 years as Executive Director of the Louisiana District Attorneys Association. A Certified Relationship Coach, he has taught 18 EFT-based "Created for Connection" workshops and consults for nonprofits nationwide. Married to Dee for 43 years, Pete has two children, 12 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Together, they’ve dedicated decades to supporting couples and have been active members of Chapel on the Campus since 1980.
